Toshiba has the greenest notebook on the planet according to
Greenpeace’s second annual “Green
Electronics Survey, 2008” and to show how cool our Portégé R600 is, we’re giving one away to whoever comes up
with the best music to suit our new video.
The competition, running
on YouTube’s Blunty3000 Channel,
offers viewers the chance to choose a piece of music that complements a
creative video that transforms a pool of water into an ice sculpture of the
Portégé R600 notebook.

Portégé R600 is well ahead of other manufacturers, scoring the highest marks for

The Portégé R600, the world’s lightest
fully-featured notebook, has restricted the use of hazardous chemicals such as
cadmium, mercury and lead from batteries and other components.
The ultra- portable notebook is also ENERGY STAR®
4.0 compliant and features a LED backlit display, the latest CPUs, the option
for a Solid State Drive (SSD) as a storage medium that results in low energy
consumption and long battery life, further reducing its environmental impact.
“Toshiba believes that
when it comes to award-winning products that less is more. We minimise waste
and use recycled materials wherever we can, while constantly looking for ways
to reduce energy consumption,” Mr Whittard said.

programs keep discarded technology from fouling the soil and atmosphere, as

We found the Tecra R10 comfortable to use while on your lap, although one slight niggle is that the keyboard is offset slightly to one side by a thin strip holding the power switch and two buttons for Toshiba Assist and presentation mode, instead of positioned centrally. The keyboard is otherwise comfortable for typing on, with full-sized keys, except for the function keys and arrow (cursor) keys.

And yes, everyone was disappointed with the ipod updates. Personally, I'm stumped. It's supposed to be priced low, so forget a tablet or MacBook touch.
